Anotace přednášky zde:\nLa seconde intervention portera sur une question historique rarement abordée du point de vue migratoire\, à savoir le déplacement d’un groupe de moines d’un lieu à l’autre pour s’y installer définitivement. Si l’on met de côté les déplacements\, réels ou fictifs mais toujours à distance réduite\, d’une communauté primitive vers son lieu définitif d’installation au moment de sa fondation\, ou les différentes missions d’évangélisation menées par des religieux\, la communication mettra l’accent sur trois dynamiques différentes\, observables entre le IXe et le XIIe siècle : la fondation d’un nouvel établissement\, qui nécessite de le peupler\, la réforme d’une abbaye préexistante\, à qui on impose un groupe de religieux venus d’ailleurs\, et le déplacement d’une communauté entière\, avec ses biens les plus précieux dont les reliques\, devant l’imminence d’un danger.

Zde anotace v jazyce přednášky:\nLa première intervention serait d’ordre plutôt méthodologique\, partant d’une question simple : de quelle manière les inscriptions\, en particulier les épitaphes\, peuvent-elles se faire le reflet des migrations humaines ? Par leur forme matérielle\, graphique ou textuelle\, comme par leur contenu\, comment ces écritures „exposées“ peuvent-elles afficher – ou non – une origine étrangère ? Au-delà des cas individuels de mort loin de sa patrie (pèlerins\, chevaliers\, marchands\, ou épouses ayant rejoint leur mari par exemple)\, la communication tentera de réfléchir à cette question à partir de deux dossiers : l’évolution des pratiques en Gaule au moment de l’installation des peuples dits barbares\, et les témoignages épigraphiques de la présence des Francs en Orient dans le cadre des royaumes latins.

DESCRIPTION:Fifteenth annual conference of the European Society for Textual Scholarship (ESTS 2018). \nVenue: Charles University\, Prague \nDates: 15th-17th November 2018 \nCALL FOR PAPERS\nDeadline: 30th April\, 2018 \nAcceptance notification: June 2018 \nRegistration deadline: 31st October\, 2018 \nWe are pleased to announce that the 15th International Conference for the European Society for Textual Scholarship will be held in Prague on 15th–17th November 2018. \nIn an important sense\, this year᾽s twofold theme follows up on the agenda of ESTS 2017 (“Editorial Degrees of Intervention”): firstly\, by taking the idea of editorial interventions down the imaginary cline towards its far end where editors become authors\, and secondly\, to strike a thematic balance\, by proposing to look into various aspects of a contrastive configuration – of texts edited by their authors. What conditions – such as pressures of ideology\, historical-cultural context\, urge to interpret or requirements of authenticity – turn editors into authors? And how do we tell the editors – with their complex duties of a scribe\, a compiler\, a commentator – from the authors? How does this “crossover” bear on these newly-born authors᾽ editorial practices? What circumstances bring authors to start editing their own texts? What are the principal features of this type of editorial process and its final product? \nIn addition\, a special section will be devoted to medieval manuscript culture in which scribes often change their model texts to such a degree that they might be considered their editors or even authors. Who decided to substantially alter an existing text? Under what conditions\, within what types of communities of interpretation such transformations took place? What types of changes were made? How were they received by the readers? Papers addressing the nature\, reasons\, and consequences of such editorial and authorial activities\, as well as the connected themes of the concept of author and editor in the Middle Ages are welcome. \nFollowing the tradition of the ESTS\, the conference welcomes a wide range of topics. Papers can be on any language and on any period. Participants are invited to submit proposals for 20-minute presentations (followed by 10-minute discussion)\, or for three-paper sessions. The language of the conference is English.
