SUMMARY:Německá mystika 14. století\, její recepce v reformaci a vliv na J. A. Komenského
DESCRIPTION:Zhlediska dalšího vlivu lze vrámci tzv. německé mystiky pozdního středověku považovat za nejdůležitější texty Jana Taulera a s nimi spřízněný anonymní spis Theologia Deutsch\, jež se v 16. století dočkaly intenzivní recepce. Jejich myšlenky zaujaly nejen mladého Luthera\, ale posléze i heterodoxní luterány\, byť z jiných hledisek. Mezi ně lze počítat i Theophrasta Paracelsa\, v jehož díle došlo ke spojení teologického myšlení s přírodní filosofií – spojení\, které záhy dovede k dokonalosti heterodoxní luterský teolog Valentin Weigel. Jeho spisy se tiskly až v první čtvrtině 17. století\, zato hojně. Brzy se začaly spojovat s texty Paracelsovými a objevila se i řada pseudepigraf. Ty se často soustředily na eschatologické motivy\, ale také na ideu všeobecné reformy. Odtud tou dobou čerpá ve svých theosofických spisech také Jacob Böhme. V přednášce budou alespoň v hrubých rysech naznačeny uvedené myšlenkové linie. Zároveň se pokusíme ukázat jejich stopy u Komenského\, který byl s nimi v různé míře obeznámen. Samo ústřední poselství německé mystiky u něj ovšem prokazatelně sehrálo důležitou roli.

DESCRIPTION:A series of talks on Digital Humanities\nDigitizing the Past: Prague Talks on Digital Humanities \nJoin us for a series of 45-minute talks by European scholars and experts who will discuss their projects and methods in Digital Humanities and talk about the challenges and opportunities they represent. \nProgramme in March: \nMarch 24\, 2022\, 14:00 \nRoman Bleier (Historical Commission at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities and Centre for Information Modelling at the University of Graz): \nDigital Scholarly Editions and historians: editing the records of the Imperial Diet of 1576 (online). \nA team of researchers at the Historical Commission at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the University of Graz are developing a digital scholarly edition of the records documenting the Imperial Diet (Reichstag) of Regensburg in 1576. At the Imperial Diet\, between June and October 1576\, the Emperor Maximilian II and more than 200 representatives of the imperial estates (Reichsstände) of the Holy Roman Empire discussed and decided about the political fate of Central Europe. The numerous meetings and deliberations at the Imperial Diet are of central interest to the ongoing project and new digital edition. \nFrom a digital scholarly editing point of view\, the project explores a particular way of editing historical documents and representing the formal information\, for instance about the above-mentioned deliberations\, as structured data in RDF. This kind of editing is a further development of editing practices used by historians and in a recent article Georg Vogeler described this type of edition and suggested the name “assertive edition”. SUMMARY:Dialog o shodě mezi Tórou a věděním. Šem Tov ibn Falaquery (1225-1295)
DESCRIPTION:Přednášku prosloví Milan Žonca. \nRecepci antické a středověké arabské filosofické tradice provázely v židovských komunitách (podobně jako ve společnosti křesťanské a muslimské) obsáhlé debaty týkající se vztahu rozumu a zjevení\, přístupu k interpretaci autoritativních náboženských textů a začlenění filosofických spisů do tradičního vzdělávacího kurikula. Šem Tov ibn Falaquera (kolem 1225–1290)\, překladatel a autor řady hebrejských spisů popularizujících studium aristotelské filosofie\, se do těchto debat aktivně zapojil především dvěma svými spisy: Dialogem o shodě mezi Tórou a světskou vědou a dopisem\, jímž vystoupil na obranu Maimonidova Průvodce tápajících během kontroverze\, která se kolem tohoto díla rozpoutala na sklonku 80. let 13. století. Oba texty budou představeny v novém českém překladu a zasazeny do kontextu Falaquerova díla a širšího diskursu o legitimitě filosofie v rámci judaismu.

SUMMARY:Radical Religious Communities in Premodern Societies
DESCRIPTION:A conference on the occasion of the (postponed) 600th anniversary of the foundation of Tábor\nThe emergence of dissenting and radical religious groups was a logical consequence of the pursuit of renewal in premodern Christianity. The separation of such groups from the mainstream can in turn be seen as resulting from the diversity of solutions to the tension between religious idealism and the demands of social and political stability. The relatively intensive research of late medieval and early modern religious separatism has operated in a field demarcated by concepts such as heresy\, reform and reformation\, revolution\, religious movements\, apocalypticism\, and others. By building upon this research tradition\, but not limited by the restraints of any single terminology\, this conference has a twofold aim: to facilitate a more comparative approach by bringing together scholars of various religious communities of premodern Europe\, and to situate the study of dissident religion within its local social\, political\, and communal context. \nFounded in February 1420\, Tábor is just one—albeit in many respects an exceptional—example of a radical religious community. Born from millenarian expectations\, Tábor underwent swift development\, from a sectarian revolutionary commune to a military-political power within Hussitism and a properly established medieval town. In other cases like Florence\, Zürich\, Münster\, Prague\, and many more\, religious radicalism settled into the pre-existing social and political structures of municipal communities\, while other radical groups pursued a clandestine or secluded existence. This conference will deal with the religiously motivated group-formation from the fourteenth to sixteenth centuries\, focusing on movements and ideologies such as (but not limited to) Waldensianism\, Wycliffism\, Hussitism\, spiritual Franciscanism\, the radical Reformation\, and various other utopian and religiously-inspired visions. \nSpeakers are invited to explore the social dimension of radical religion in the medieval and early modern periods. Instead of social-economical determinism\, we would like to focus on local networks\, interpersonal bonds\, and communal dynamisms. As a counterpart to the study of intellectual influences and ideological pedigrees\, we propose to examine how emerging religious groups strove to propagate their message. While investigating the reactions of the of society\, we hope to look beyond the mere reproduction of the ‚image of the other‘ to more practical deliberations about possible solutions to religious separatism\, as well as to proposals for reintegration of radical groups. \nThe conference programme will be structured by the following themes:\n• The social background of radical ideologies: group identity and goals; means of recruitment; media of mobilisation; signs and conditions of success and failure; norms and authority\n• Religious leadership in urban communities: old and new elites; theocratic tendencies and the extent of clerical influence; longevity of religious enthusiasm; the ‚stabilisation‘ of the situation\n• Reactions to religious separatism: strategies of dealing with dissident religious groups; the limits of inclusion; the aim of persecution (extermination\, or reintegration); redefining the semantics of difference \nThe conference is organized jointly by the Centre for Medieval Studies (Institute of Philosophy\, Czech Academy of Sciences) and the Hussite Museum in Tábor. Papers will be allotted 20-25 minutes. The conference language is English\, with simultaneous translation into Czech. Speakers will be offered accommodation in Tábor. Limited funding to cover travel expenses (economy train or air tickets) is available\, though limited. DESCRIPTION:Cílem workshopu je prezentace vznikajícího portálu Historická korespondence online (https://historicka-korespondence.cz)\, jeho evropských inspiračních zdrojů\, koncepce\, technického řešení\, problémů a vizí\, a to včetně aktuálních korespondenčních celků\, které jsou zpracovávány. Portál by měl v budoucnu shromažďovat informace o projektech věnovaných zpracování historické korespondence spjaté s dějinami českých zemí od středověku po druhou polovinu 20. století\, zejména pokud jde o digitální zpracování. Zároveň nabízí badatelským týmům redakční rozhraní pro základní popisy historické korespondence a umožňuje zapojení metadat do databázového systému. \nV druhé části workshopu proběhne diskuse u kulatého stolu o možnostech digitálního zpracování historické korespondence a možné koordinaci probíhajících projektů. SUMMARY:O konceptu vědění a jeho přenosech: Obohacení\, nebo ohrožení?
DESCRIPTION:V současné době se zejména v společensko-politickém kontextu opět hodně mluví o kompatibilitě či nekompatibilitě kulturních a civilizačních okruhů\, o mezikulturní výměně a jejích důsledcích\, o vzájemném obohacování či rizicích plynoucích z prostorové a společenské provázanosti skupin s odlišným etnickým\, kulturním či ideologickým pozadím. Přestože jsou ve své dnešní podobě tyto debaty výrazně ovlivněny specifickou geopolitickou a kulturní situací přelomu tisíciletí\, nejsou ani zdaleka nové. Středověká společnost si ve své mnohobarevnosti a vzájemné provázanosti v ničím nezadala se svou postmoderní kolegyní a otázky po vzdělání i náležitém přístupu ke kulturnímu dědictví jiných kultur se ve středověkém myšlení objevují na nejrůznějších místech. \nSpolečně s hosty\, dr. Pavlínou Cermanovou z CMS FLÚ AV ČR\, dr. Ditou Válovou z ÚFAR FF UK a dr. Milanem Žoncou z FLÚ AV ČR\, se budeme zamýšlet nad dynamikou mezikulturního přenosu ve středověku a nad tím\, jak byl samotnými skupinami\, jež se ho účastnily\, vnímán či problematizován. Zaměříme se přitom na sféru\, jež v dnešních debatách chybí\, a to je přenos poznání. Prozkoumáme\, jak středověká arabská kultura přistupovala k antickému myšlenkovému dědictví\, na příkladu překladů pseudoaristotelského spisu Secretum secretorum prozkoumáme\, jak probíhala recepce arabské učenosti a podíváme se rovněž na to\, jakým způsobem vnímaly přejímání vědeckých a filozofických nauk cizího původu židovské komunity. Vnímali židovští učenci studium „cizí“ (tedy řecké\, arabské a latinské vědu) jako ohrožení\, nebo jako příležitost obohacení? Jakým způsobem bylo toto studium židovskými učenci ospravedlňováno nebo odsuzováno a jaké kroky podnikaly židovské komunity s cílem regulovat je? \nVšichni jsou vřele zváni nejen k účasti v publiku\, ale uvítáme samozřejmě rádi aktivní zájemce o diskusi na témata koncept vzdělání\, evropská kultura v židovské\, křesťanské i muslimské perspektivě\, vzdělanostní sítě a další. Těším se na setkání ve čtvrtek!
